About Company

Sanamed offers a specialized healthcare solution designed to facilitate care delivery and enhance patient engagement through automated and personalized communication with caregivers and healthcare providers. The platform encompasses a range of services, including digital check-ins, post-discharge follow-ups, appointment reminders, and health outreach initiatives.  

Before

When we started working on this project, there was a manual tester.  The task for our two AQA was to automate existing test cases and write new ones.  

Challenges and Solutions

Key areas of emphasis included functional testing to validate core features, usability testing to enhance user experience, and security testing to safeguard patient data and compliance with healthcare regulations. Let us share some aspects of the work on this project with you.

Testing was required on different browsers and mobile devices  

Used the built-in option of Playwright when running on different browsers and simulating mobile viewing, which in turn still required updating the tests due to a different logic with mobile viewing  

There was a need to optimize the time required for complex tests  

Utilized API calls during specific test stages to reduce test execution time  

Complex application architecture with a large number of endpoints  

Deployed a microservices architecture paired with a dynamic service mesh to ensure optimal routing, load balancing, and decentralized management 

Technical issues with the API were causing delays and impacting the writing of new tests   

Implemented API testing using tools like Postman and performed extensive debugging to ensure the API's stability and reliability  

Technologies, Tools, and Approaches

On this project, the primary tasks were the automation of existing test cases, the creation of new ones, and ensuring user data security. To accomplish these tasks, we utilized the following tools.  

  • TypeScript + Playwright was used for automated testing.  
  • Postman and WebDriverIO with Axios were used for API Testing.  
  • Jenkins was utilized as a CI/CD tool in the project. Jira was used as the project management tool, providing a centralized platform for planning, tracking, and managing tasks, issues, and project progress. 
  • OWASP ZAP and Burp Suite were used for security testing.  

Results

  • 500+ automated test cases were created, covering web, mobile, API, and load testing aspects, significantly improving test coverage. 
  • 117 bug reports were generated and resolved, ensuring a more stable and reliable end-user application. 
  • Integration of Allure Reporter provided comprehensive test reports, enhancing transparency and aiding in informed decision-making.  
  • The combination of platform compatibility, extensive API testing, and comprehensive testing across multiple environments contributed to increased stability, reliability, and overall quality of the platform.
